Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced International Customs Manager to lead customs compliance and duty optimisation across our supply chain. Reporting to the Group Head of Inbound, you will manage customs support for international parcels, returns, product compliance, and wholesale documentation. You will play a key role in customs bonded warehouse operations at our Burnley Distribution Centre, with upcoming projects at Sheffield.
Key Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with global customs regulations and oversee tariff classification and duty optimisation.

Collaborate with suppliers to ensure accurate customs declarations and educate them on regulatory changes.

Manage customs-related disputes, audits, and investigations.

Develop international trade strategies, policies, and process improvements.

Drive automation and continuous improvement in customs and trade processes.

Facilitate smooth cross-border movement of goods and manage customs documentation accurately.

Provide training and guidance on customs compliance to internal teams.

Work closely with quality control and customer service teams to ensure product classification accuracy and manage customer expectations.

Identify and mitigate customs risks to maintain compliance and reduce costs.
Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor’s degree in international trade, supply chain management, business, or related field (Master’s degree advantageous).

Strong knowledge of global customs regulations, trade agreements, Incoterms, and international logistics.

Experience in customs bonded warehousing, compliance, and import/export operations within fashion retail preferred.

Analytical ability to interpret tariff schedules and customs valuation.

Detail-oriented with strong organisational and communication skills.

Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
