Summary
CHS is seeking a dependable Truck Driver to join our team in Philip, SD. This position involves hauling fertilizer products to local customers, with drivers returning home daily. The role follows a Monday through Friday daytime schedule, with ample opportunities for overtime during the spring season. Join our dedicated team today!

Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently pick up and deliver products to customers on time, assisting with loading or unloading when necessary.

  • Deliver excellent customer service by greeting customers courteously, addressing concerns promptly, and escalating issues to management as needed.

  • Comply with all local, state, and federal regulations, including conducting pre- and post-trip inspections, securing loads properly, and adhering to hours-of-service rules.

  • Maintain cleanliness of vehicles and work areas.

  • Perform and document daily maintenance checks; ensure all necessary repairs and preventive maintenance are completed.

  • Promote a strong culture of safety by following safety policies, using personal protective equipment, and reporting workplace hazards or unsafe conditions.

  • Immediately report any incidents, accidents, or traffic violations to supervisors.

  • Participate in mandatory CHS random drug and alcohol testing and the Continuous Monitoring Program.

  • Support operational staff by performing other duties as assigned, which may include intercompany driving.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Maintain or be able to obtain a CDL and DOT medical card.

  • Proficient in reading, writing, and communication in English.

  • Willingness to work additional hours, including overnight stays and occasional weekends, to meet business needs.

  • Hazmat, Tanker, and Air Brake endorsements preferred.

  • Experience or background in agriculture is a plus.

  • Customer service experience preferred.

  • Experience with bulk liquid, pressure trailers, or forklifts is beneficial.

  • Must pass pre-employment screenings based on job requirements, which may include drug testing, criminal background checks, motor vehicle records, physical requirements, and FMCSA Clearinghouse verification.
