Clinical Development Physician
Location: Raleigh, NC (RTP office)

About the Role:
UCB is seeking a dynamic Clinical Development Physician to lead the medical strategy and integrity of assigned clinical programs. You will act as the medical expert, ensuring that clinical development plans reflect the latest scientific knowledge, innovations, and best practices. You may also have line management responsibilities and lead clinical development programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee medical and scientific content for clinical programs, including mode of action, disease understanding, patient populations, and competitor insights.

  • Provide ongoing medical training to development teams.

  • Ensure medical integrity across all clinical documents and trials.

  • Act as primary medical contact for investigators and study sites, including on-site visits.

  • Monitor clinical studies and assess benefit-risk for patient inclusion and safety.

  • Lead interactions with Data and Safety Monitoring Boards.

  • Review and contribute to regulatory and study documentation.

  • Represent UCB externally at conferences and with stakeholders such as KOLs, regulatory agencies, and patient groups.

  • Support lifecycle management and business development activities with scientific input.

  • Global travel required.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree with board certification or equivalent advanced qualifications.

  • Minimum 5 years in biopharma, with at least 3 years in clinical development.

  • Strong knowledge of global clinical development processes and therapeutic areas.

  • Leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.

  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.

  • Innovative mindset with proficiency in digital tools.

Salary Range:
$177,200 – $232,600 annually, dependent on experience and location.
