Position Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in an acute care setting. This includes comprehensive assessment, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of individualized care plans. The RN provides direct patient care, educates patients and their families, and facilitates seamless transitions across the continuum of care. Emphasizing a holistic approach, care plans incorporate psychological, cultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors unique to each patient.

This role fosters strong interdisciplinary collaboration with physicians, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a positive and effective patient experience. All duties are performed in adherence to hospital policies, evidence-based practices, and all relevant laws and regulations.


Qualifications

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing – Required

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – Preferred

Experience

  • At least one (1) year of recent experience in Medical/Surgical TelemetryRequired

Licenses and Certifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) – Active state licensure – Required

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – Current certification – Required

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – Current certification – Required


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong foundation in nursing theories, medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.

  • Understanding of healthcare safety practices, patient privacy standards (HIPAA), and regulatory guidelines.

  • Effective communication skills for interacting with a diverse patient population, families, and multidisciplinary team members.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

  • Proficient in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Outlook); familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) is a plus.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a healthcare team.

  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to manage routine and complex patient care scenarios.

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and protect patient health information.

  • Commitment to building and maintaining professional relationships that contribute to positive patient outcomes.
