 About the Role

We’re delighted to be working with a well-established business in Newcastle upon Tyne seeking an experienced Accounts and Payroll Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a busy finance environment and wants to be a key part of a supportive team.

In this role, you will manage a variety of finance and payroll tasks, contributing to the smooth operation of the business’s financial systems. You’ll report directly to the Finance Manager and play an integral role in the company’s day-to-day and monthly accounting processes.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Process payroll efficiently and accurately

  • Daily input of purchase orders and invoices

  • Reconcile supplier statements and follow up discrepancies

  • Handle both accounts payable and receivable processes

  • Analyse and reconcile monthly credit card statements

  • Support with month-end payment processing

  • Carry out general administrative and finance support tasks

 Requirements

  • Experience with Sage Accounts and Sage Payroll is preferred (but not essential)

  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills

  • Previous experience in a high-volume finance administration role is desirable

  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

 Work Location

  • Based in Newcastle upon Tyne (NE1 1EH)
