Responsibilities & Qualifications

This role is designated as HYBRID, so candidates living in MD, DC, VA, PA, DE, or nearby areas are preferred to facilitate travel to the office several times per month or more as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate rebate opportunities and recommend implementations to maximize cost savings.

  • Develop policies supporting drug management strategies, working with oversight committees to ensure alignment and regulatory compliance.

  • Analyze pharmacy market trends to design and apply strategies for cost control and clinical management, emphasizing specialty drugs.

  • Collaborate with vendors and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for optimal benefit design aligned with market trends.

  • Act as a subject matter expert on specialty drugs, offering insights and recommendations on pharmacy trends and cost containment to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Prepare and deliver presentations and communication materials on specialty drug management, pharmacy strategy, and related subjects to diverse audiences.

Qualifications

  • Education: PharmD (Doctor of Pharmacy).

  • Licensure: Active Pharmacist license in any state or DC.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in clinical pharmacy, preferably in a managed care setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the healthcare industry with a deep understanding of specialty drug management across pharmacy and medical benefits, covering multiple lines of business (Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid).

  • Expertise in drug pricing, reimbursement, and market trends.

  • Certified Specialty Pharmacist (CSP) credential is preferred.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

  • Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills, with excellent planning and organizational abilities.

  • Up-to-date knowledge of clinical practices, related information systems, and computer applications.
