About the Role:
Oracle is hiring a skilled Senior Network Operations Engineer to join our Global Network Operations Center (GNOC) in Abilene, Texas. As a key member of our 24/7/365 operations team, you’ll ensure the reliability of our physical network infrastructure, support incident response, and drive network efficiency through automation and strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve complex network issues across OCI infrastructure

  • Lead on-site structured cabling and data center build standards

  • Guide and mentor junior engineers

  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams for fault resolution and escalation

  • Design and implement network changes and solutions

  • Support scripting and automation efforts (Python, Ansible, SQL, Puppet preferred)

  • Manage and lead technical projects and documentation (runbooks, methods of procedure)

Technical Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years’ experience in networking, ideally within cloud or large ISP environments

  • Expert knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, DNS, DHCP, MPLS

  • Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Arista, InfiniBand, or equivalent

  • Familiarity with network diagnostic tools (Wireshark, OTDR)

  • Experience with GPU/RDMA networks and high-performance compute environments is a plus

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
