Job Summary:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at the Infusion Clinic is dedicated to delivering a safe, professional, and positive care experience for all patients. This role is responsible for ensuring the quality and precision of nursing services and performs all duties with meticulous attention to detail. The LPN will carefully review patient orders, medications, and health records, administering parenteral medications in alignment with the prescribed treatment plan under the supervision of a physician, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, or registered nurse. The LPN monitors patients’ health status, identifies any changes or emerging symptoms, and promptly consults with the Medical Director, referring physicians, or clinical leadership when additional interventions are necessary. Comprehensive and accurate documentation of all patient care activities in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system is essential. The Licensed Practical Nurse reports directly to the Clinic Director.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not include any direct supervisory duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Licensed Practical Nurse’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing courteous, professional service to patients and caregivers in-person, via telephone, and through written communications.

  • Demonstrating empathy and building rapport with patients and caregivers of all ages.

  • Initiating and maintaining intravenous (IV) access for infusion therapies.

  • Administering medications safely and accurately—including oral, intramuscular (IM), subcutaneous (SQ), and intravenous (IV) routes—without error.

  • Conducting ongoing patient assessments and promptly informing the supervising clinician of any abnormal findings.

  • Utilizing the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system for documenting patient care, managing orders, and scheduling appointments.

  • Performing essential nursing tasks such as patient weighing, vital sign monitoring, phlebotomy, and oxygen administration.

  • Ensuring proper storage and handling of medications and biological specimens.

  • Educating patients on symptom and side effect management during their therapy, within the scope of nursing practice.

  • Communicating clearly and effectively with patients, team members, and healthcare professionals.

  • Organizing and prioritizing workload efficiently to maintain smooth clinic operations.

  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of all clinical equipment, performing or overseeing routine maintenance, calibration, and quality assurance.

  • Assisting with patient scheduling and managing payment collections.

  • Ordering supplies and maintaining inventory of products.

  • Upholding professional conduct at all times.

  • Actively participating in organizational quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.

  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Practical Nursing diploma from an accredited institution.

  • Current, unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.

  • Minimum of three years clinical experience, including infusion therapy training.

  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) provider certification.

  • Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).

  • Strong team player who delivers exceptional patient care and outstanding customer service
