Position Overview
As a Clinical Pharmacist at Sutter Health, you will play a vital role in delivering patient-centered pharmaceutical care through clinical services, medication education, preparation, and distribution. Your focus will be on ensuring medication therapy is safe, effective, and cost-efficient. Using sound clinical judgment and experience, you will contribute to timely care planning in alignment with each patient’s diagnosis and overall treatment goals.
This role requires the ability to build trust and cooperation with patients, families, and care teams through attentive monitoring, thorough assessment, and clear communication. You will be expected to follow all applicable local, state, and federal regulations while upholding privacy and safety standards. Additional responsibilities may include specialized tasks or the orientation of new team members.
Education

Doctorate in Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited institution.
Licensure & Certifications
-
Licensed Pharmacist (PHARMD) or Registered Pharmacist (PHARMR).

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required for those involved in code response.
Experience
-
Minimum of 1 year of recent, relevant clinical pharmacy experience.
Required Skills & Knowledge

Proficiency in medical terminology and both generic and brand-name pharmaceuticals.

Understanding of pharmacy operations across various practice settings, including controlled substance handling.

Ability to interpret medical prescriptions, abbreviations, and documentation standards.

Working knowledge of regulatory standards from agencies such as NABP, TJC, Title XXII, DHS, DEA, FDA, and USP.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex or sensitive information to patients and colleagues.

Excellent time management, multitasking, and organizational skills.

Familiarity with pharmacy technologies, electronic health records (EHR), EPIC, and Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Commitment to patient privacy and confidentiality of health information (PHI).
Compensation
-
Hourly Pay Range: $90.97 – $100.06
Actual compensation may vary based on location, experience, licensure, and qualifications. Final pay decisions are determined with consideration of internal equity and organizational requirements. This role is not benefits-eligible.
