Company Overview
The Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) has been serving Texans since 1934. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for the communities we serve through reliable energy, water stewardship, and community support.
We generate and transmit electricity, manage the lower Colorado River and water supply, operate public parks, and promote regional development. LCRA is self-funded—primarily through energy operations—and does not receive state appropriations or levy taxes.
With roots dating back to the Great Depression, LCRA has a proud legacy of building the dams that brought electricity and stability to rural Central Texas.
