Primary Purpose:
Lead the operational management of QuikTrip’s network services—including wired and wireless connectivity, network security, and unified communications. Responsible for designing, planning, documenting, and continuously improving network infrastructure. Serve as the escalation point for network issues and mentor IT staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership: Mentor IT team members, lead change and incident management, root cause analysis, and process improvements. (35%)

  • Infrastructure Lifecycle Management: Collaborate with Network Engineering and Architecture to optimize operational technologies and review network designs for efficiency and business alignment. (25%)

  • Network Operations: Oversee daily network support, disaster recovery planning, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting. Maintain documentation and tune monitoring systems for optimal uptime. (20%)

  • Capacity Planning: Monitor network performance, manage vendor relationships, ensure SLA compliance, and proactively address capacity and service delivery issues. (15%)

  • Project Leadership: Support network infrastructure projects, provide technical guidance, and assist with operational requirements and risk management. (5%)

Reporting:
Reports to Network Operations Manager. Indirectly supervises Network Operations Engineers and Analysts.

Qualifications:

  • Required: Associate’s degree or equivalent experience, Cisco CCNA/CCNP (current or expired), 8+ years with Cisco networking, 4+ years supporting VoIP.

  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications or related field, current CCNP, experience with Cisco, Arista, BGP, Azure Cloud, Cisco Unified Communications, Palo Alto, Meraki firewalls, and network management tools (SNMP, NetFlow, etc.).

  • Skills: Strong communication, self-motivated, able to work independently and collaboratively. Preferred scripting skills in Bash, Python, or PowerShell, and knowledge of voice/data wiring
