Pharmacist

Skills & Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a licensed Pharmacist

• Active and valid Pharmacist license issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED); Primary Source Verification required

• Prior experience in a hospital pharmacy setting

• Spanish language proficiency is a plus

Preferred Experience:

• Familiarity with pharmacy dispensing systems

• Experience with sterile processing and working in an IV room

• Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is preferred

Education and Licensure Requirements:

• A valid and active license to practice as a Pharmacist issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED).

• Primary Source Verification of licensure is required prior to employment.

• Completion of a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program from an accredited college of pharmacy is typically required.

• Prior hospital pharmacy experience is strongly preferred, with knowledge of clinical workflows and institutional pharmacy operations.

Key Responsibilities and Competencies:

• Operate and manage pharmacy dispensing systems to ensure safe and accurate medication distribution.

• Demonstrate proficiency in sterile compounding and aseptic technique, with hands-on experience working in a sterile processing environment and IV room preparation.

• Utilize and maintain familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems to review prescriptions, verify orders, and document patient interactions.

• Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and institutional regulations related to pharmacy operations, medication handling, and patient safety.

• Contribute to interdisciplinary care planning by providing pharmaceutical expertise and clinical recommendations as needed.
