Solugenix is seeking a highly skilled HR Compliance Manager for a direct hire opportunity with one of our premier clients—a top North American distributor of building materials. This onsite role, based in Santa Ana, CA, is ideal for a compliance-driven HR professional who excels at navigating complex employment regulations and ensuring organizational adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws.
Key Responsibilities
1. Regulatory Compliance & Policy Oversight

Ensure comprehensive compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

Interpret and enforce changes in labor laws, regulatory updates, and employment legislation to ensure the organization’s HR practices and policies remain current and compliant.

Serve as a subject matter expert in employment regulations and ensure internal policies are aligned with legal requirements.
2. Audit & Reporting Management

Manage and coordinate responses to various internal and external HR-related audits, including EEO-1 and 5500 audits.

Prepare, review, and submit required reports to regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders accurately and on time.

Maintain robust documentation and ensure appropriate audit trails are in place.
3. Compensation & Wage Compliance

Oversee and ensure compliance with multi-state wage and hour laws, including proper classification of employees, overtime pay practices, and minimum wage adherence.

Collaborate with payroll and compensation teams to ensure wage structures and compensation practices align with applicable regulatory standards.
4. Legislative Tracking & Risk Mitigation

Monitor legislative developments at the federal, state, and local levels that impact HR policies and practices.

Assess the potential impact of new laws and regulations, develop risk mitigation strategies, and update HR policies accordingly.

Partner with legal counsel when necessary to evaluate compliance risks and implement appropriate changes.
Qualifications

Proven experience managing HR compliance in a multi-state environment, particularly with wage and hour regulations.

Strong familiarity with EEO-1 reporting, 5500 filings, and other HR compliance audits.

Deep understanding of employment law, HR regulations, and best practices in regulatory compliance.

Demonstrated ability to interpret legislation, analyze compliance risks, and implement effective policy solutions.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
Compensation
The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $125,000 to $150,000, applicable to candidates in CA, CO, IL, NJ, NY, WA, and DC. Final compensation will be determined based on multiple factors, including but not limited to the specific role, geographic location, individual qualifications, experience, and education.
