Job Summary:
LeisureSK is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Swimming Teachers to support the delivery of our Swim School and School Swimming programmes. This role plays a crucial part in promoting community health, safety, and skill development while supporting the long-term success of our leisure centres.
As an Assistant Swimming Teacher, you will assist in the planning and delivery of swimming lessons, support students during sessions, and ensure high standards of safety, engagement, and fun. This is a developmental role, with full training support towards achieving your Swim England Level 1 & 2 teaching qualifications and NRASTC rescue certification.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist with the delivery of structured, engaging, and educational swimming lessons based on the Swim England Learn to Swim Pathway.

Support swimmers in the water during early-stage lessons.

Maintain accurate records of student attendance and progression using Learn2 software.

Ensure a safe learning environment by following all relevant health and safety procedures and Pool Safety Operating Procedures (PSOP).

Encourage participation, progression, and enjoyment among all swimmers.

Assist with routine safety checks and maintain cleanliness of teaching areas.

Build positive relationships with class participants and their families through effective communication and a welcoming attitude.

Participate in continuous professional development, staff training, and crash course delivery.

Identify students who are ready to progress to performance or advanced swimming pathways.

Represent LeisureSK professionally at all times.
Qualifications & Skills:
Essential:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Passion for teaching and working with children

Reliable, responsible, and customer-focused

Willingness to work toward Swim England and NRASTC qualifications
Desirable:

Experience teaching or assisting in a swimming environment

Awareness of health & safety in aquatic facilities

Familiarity with the Swim England Learn to Swim Pathway
Training Provided:
