Salary: £29,009 – £31,203 per annum (Full-time) | £23,207 – £24,962 per annum (30 hours)

About Baca
Baca is a specialist organization dedicated to supporting unaccompanied asylum-seeking children (UASC) aged 16 to 18. We empower young refugees to become independent, confident, and positive contributors to society by providing holistic care, education, and personal development support. We are now looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Education Coordinator to lead the delivery of our education programme in Cambridge.
Role Overview
The Education Coordinator will lead, coordinate, and deliver Baca’s tailored education program, ensuring each young person achieves sufficient English proficiency to access mainstream education and thrive in the UK. This role requires creativity, cultural sensitivity, leadership, and a deep commitment to supporting refugee youth.
Key Responsibilities

Design & Deliver engaging, creative educational sessions tailored to individual learning levels and backgrounds.

Evaluate & Improve the program to align with college entry requirements and Baca’s Theory of Change goals.

Liaise with local colleges and training providers to ensure smooth enrolment and academic progress of young people.

Recruit, Train & Support education volunteers, including resource development and session planning.

Coordinate volunteer support, ensuring meaningful matching and engagement with young learners.

Manage Resources including budgeting and allocation for education and volunteer activities.

Monitor & Report on volunteer contributions and educational progress through accurate record keeping and regular reporting.

Safeguarding – Ensure all concerns or incidents are reported and handled in line with Baca’s safeguarding policies.

Person Specification
Essential Skills & Experience

Experience coordinating youth-focused programs or services.

Teaching experience with young people, particularly English as a second language.

Qualified ESOL/TEFL/CELTA teacher.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

Experience managing or supporting volunteers.

Excellent communication, organizational, and reporting skills.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and digital tools.

Familiarity with the challenges faced by asylum-seeking youth.

Possession of a full UK driving licence and ability to travel.
