Key Responsibilities

Accurately process biweekly and monthly payrolls for both salaried and hourly employees across multiple states, ensuring all calculations comply with organizational policies and applicable wage laws.

Maintain, update, and audit payroll records to reflect new hires, terminations, wage changes, bonuses, benefits, and other employee-related adjustments.

Ensure the correct calculation and application of employee compensation, including regular wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, deductions, and benefit contributions.

Partner closely with Human Resources and Benefits teams to facilitate seamless payroll integration for onboarding, offboarding, promotions, and employee life-cycle changes.

Prepare, reconcile, and submit payroll tax filings in compliance with federal, state, and local requirements; promptly respond to inquiries and notices from tax authorities.

Generate detailed payroll and labor reports for internal stakeholders and support external audits and compliance checks as needed.

Monitor and ensure full compliance with all relevant payroll regulations, including wage and hour laws, tax codes, and labor guidelines across multiple jurisdictions.

Assist with year-end payroll functions, including the preparation and distribution of W-2 forms and other required federal or state filings.

Serve as the first point of contact for employees regarding payroll-related inquiries; investigate and resolve discrepancies efficiently and with discretion.
Qualifications

Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on payroll processing experience, preferably in a multi-state environment.

Proficient in the use of payroll software platforms such as ADP, Paylocity, Workday, or other industry-standard systems.

In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws, including experience with multi-jurisdictional tax withholding, unemployment insurance, and regulatory compliance.

Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy and confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly explain payroll matters to employees and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Highly organized with strong time management abilities and capable of managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related discipline is preferred.

Certification such as Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is highly desirable and considered a plus.
