About the Role
Join Harris Academy Wimbledon, an Ofsted-rated Outstanding secondary school, as a Teaching Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated, enthusiastic individual with a passion for education and student development. You’ll work closely with students and teaching staff to support classroom learning and literacy development.
Working Schedule:

Monday: 8:00am – 3:00pm

Tuesday: 8:30am – 4:00pm
-
Wednesday to Friday: 8:30am – 3:00pm
(Total: 34 hours per week, term-time only)
Key Responsibilities
As a valued Teaching Assistant, your main duties will include:

Supporting a small group of students on the Reading Recovery Programme
-
Assisting in the school library and supporting reading development
-
Building strong student relationships and providing tailored support
-
Encouraging participation, self-esteem, and independence
-
Maintaining accurate intervention records and attending meetings
-
Supporting students on educational visits and off-site activities
-
Assisting teachers in the preparation and use of classroom materials
What We’re Looking For
We welcome applications from candidates who have:

Experience supporting children or young people, ideally in a school setting
-
Experience working with students who have additional learning needs
-
Knowledge of or experience delivering literacy and reading recovery programmes
-
Understanding of the secondary curriculum and assessment

Strong organisational skills and a caring, resilient attitude
