About the Role
As part of the Maintenance Department, you’ll support both production machinery and facility systems across the business. This is a hands-on engineering role requiring independent problem-solving, critical thinking, and collaboration with internal teams and external contractors.
Key Responsibilities

Install, maintain, and upgrade electrical and electronic control systems and production equipment

Diagnose and repair faults in electronic and electrical systems quickly and effectively

Program and troubleshoot PLCs (experience with Allen Bradley and Mitsubishi is a plus)

Replace legacy systems to enhance reliability and ensure compliance
-
Support planned preventative maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives

Log and manage maintenance activities using in-house software
-
Work closely with production teams to improve performance and efficiency

Supervise or coordinate with service engineers and third-party contractors as required
Essential Skills & Qualifications

5+ years of hands-on experience in a production/manufacturing environment

Level 3 qualification (e.g., City & Guilds, BTEC ONC, or equivalent) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering

Proficient in fault finding and diagnostics for electronic and electrical systems

Strong knowledge of 3-phase motors, control panels, VFDs, PLCs, and instrumentation

Effective communicator with the ability to liaise across departments and teams
Desirable (Not Essential) Skills

10+ years in a high-volume manufacturing environment

Level 4/5 qualification (HNC, HND, or Degree) in Electrical, Electronic or Mechatronics Engineering

Experience with automation systems, servo drives, and vibration feeders

Skilled in electrical panel design and safety system upgrades

Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, EPlan, Edraw, etc.)
