About the Role
The UK Agri-Tech Centre is seeking a Farm Technician to join its dynamic Farms Team, managing a wide range of sensor technologies and field platforms deployed across the UK. This hands-on role involves supporting on-farm technical trials, operating high-tech agricultural equipment, and ensuring systems are functioning for real-time data collection and research.
You’ll work with leading stakeholders in the agri-tech ecosystem and play a critical part in delivering and scaling innovative trials and research projects across the national farm network.
Key Responsibilities
In this varied and field-focused role, you will:

Operate, maintain, and monitor a fleet of technical equipment and mobile platforms.

Perform field-based trials, manage high-quality data collection, and ensure trial success.

Coordinate project activities on-farm, including site preparation, equipment installation, and oversight.

Assist in the development and testing of new agri-tech tools and services.

Liaise with farmers, researchers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure collaborative delivery.

Represent the UK Agri-Tech Centre at project meetings, farm events, and knowledge exchange workshops (UK and occasionally abroad).

Support training sessions, demos, and create content for wider dissemination.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a proactive, organised, and tech-savvy individual with a keen interest in agriculture and innovation. Ideal candidates will bring:

A degree or equivalent experience in agriculture, engineering, or a related field

Experience with farm technology, precision farming, or agricultural engineering

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Good organisational abilities and attention to detail

IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office

An understanding of project coordination and the agri-tech landscape
