Due to ongoing business growth, we are recruiting Assistant Supervisors. This role is a fantastic development opportunity for individuals aiming to progress to full Supervisor roles by gaining hands-on experience and industry knowledge.

Role Overview:

As an Assistant Supervisor, you will support Supervisors and Managers in the operational and performance management of internal teams and external sub-contractors. Your role will include planning, programming, monitoring work quality, compliance checks, and liaising with stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with planning and organising property surveys, preparing schedules, technical reports, and detailed specifications

  • Support organisation and deployment of staff and sub-contractors, including performance management, discipline, training, and induction

  • Create and issue orders to contractors, maintain accurate records of all work

  • Carry out pre and post inspections to ensure compliance with client and company standards and legislation

  • Validate, authorise, and audit all documentation and electronic records related to work orders

  • Monitor completed orders against performance indicators using computerised management systems

  • Assist in planning and conducting contract meetings, liaising with departments, contractors, and agencies

  • Communicate effectively with contractors, partners, and internal teams, providing technical and practical guidance

  • Respond to requests for information from clients, customers, utility providers, and internal departments

  • Maintain knowledge of legislation, new products, equipment, and contribute to improving working practices

  • Attend required training and achieve relevant qualifications as part of personal development

Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Technical knowledge related to construction

  • Full clean manual driving licence

  • Positive attitude with strong commitment to quality and compliance

  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to work in varying environments

  • Excellent communication skills across all levels, including external stakeholders

  • Strong organisational, mentoring, decision-making, and motivational abilities

  • Ability to prioritise complex workloads and work both independently and within a team

  • Health & Safety knowledge relevant to construction

Desirable:

  • Qualified craft/trade background

  • Previous supervisory experience in construction or maintenance

  • SSSTS/SMSTS or equivalent certifications

  • IOSH/NEBOSH qualifications

  • Gold or Black CSCS card

  • Construction-related NVQ or equivalent

  • Strong understanding of construction legislation and statutory requirements

  • Other relevant construction qualifications or training
