About the Role
UPP is excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Multi-Skilled Technician (Electrical) to join our Loughborough team. This permanent, full-time position is ideal for an experienced technician with both electrical and mechanical skills, looking to contribute to a high-quality residential maintenance service.
As part of our dedicated team, you’ll perform a mix of planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring electrical systems across our student residences are safe, compliant, and functioning to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
Planned & Reactive Maintenance

Perform repairs in a safe manner, assessing Health & Safety risks before starting work

Respond to reactive maintenance needs under agreed service levels

Complete planned preventive maintenance (PPM) in line with schedules

Maintain detailed records of breakdowns, repairs, and statutory compliance

Work collaboratively with subcontractors when required
Statutory Testing

Carry out PAT testing, fire alarm testing, fire door checks, and other safety tests
Health & Safety
-
Immediately report any H&S concerns or hazards within the residences

Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and internal standards
Other Duties

Support colleagues across other trades and locations

Participate in an on-call rota, especially during student arrivals/departures

Take part in ongoing training and development

Carry out other tasks aligned with the scope of the role
Requirements
-
Proven experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance
-
Knowledge of PPM systems, compliance standards, and health & safety regulations
-
Willingness to undergo employment referencing and basic DBS checks
-
Flexibility to work additional hours during peak times
-
Strong teamwork and communication skills
