Key Job Responsibilities

As a Data Scientist III with Amazon Devices, you will be instrumental in shaping product strategies and launch initiatives through advanced analytics and forecasting. Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and executing advanced conjoint surveys to capture critical customer insights for upcoming device launches.

  • Building and refining demand forecasting models by integrating conjoint data with historical sales to support accurate pre-launch projections.

  • Leading customer segmentation initiatives to identify trends, behaviors, and purchasing characteristics across various device categories.

  • Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams—including Product Management, Marketing, and Finance—to translate insights into actionable product development and go-to-market strategies.

  • Applying machine learning techniques to improve forecasting precision and segmentation accuracy.

  • Staying informed on the latest data science methodologies, particularly in conjoint analysis, demand modeling, and consumer segmentation.

  • Mentoring junior data scientists and contributing to the growth and innovation of the data science team within Amazon Devices.


Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with data querying (e.g., SQL), scripting (e.g., Python), or statistical tools (e.g., R, SAS, MATLAB).

  • 4+ years of experience in a data science role.

  • Proficiency in statistical modeling, including techniques like multinomial logistic regression.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or Computer Science.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience as a team leader or mentor in a data science capacity.

  • Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or Computer Science.
