What You’ll Bring

A PhD or Master’s degree in Engineering Mathematics, Statistics, Theoretical/Computational Physics, or a related field

Strong foundation in statistical methods and techniques

3+ years of experience in a leadership or management role within data science
-
Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability to influence executive leadership
-
Hands-on programming experience in areas such as machine learning (ML), natural language processing (NLP), statistics, or optimization
-
6+ years of experience working with large datasets and databases (e.g., R, SQL, S-Plus)

6+ years of experience with general-purpose programming languages such as Python or Scala
Preferred Qualifications

PhD in a quantitative or technical discipline such as Engineering Mathematics, Statistics, or Computational Physics

Deep expertise and practical experience in ML, NLP, Statistics, or Optimization

Proven experience designing and deploying machine learning pipelines and architectures

Strong track record of influencing senior business leaders to shape high-impact, mission-critical projects

Demonstrated success leading teams in the delivery of production-grade ML solutions

Outstanding interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across technical and business audiences
How You Will Lead

Champion a data science culture across the organization through strong leadership and communication

Provide technical leadership in one or more core areas (ML, NLP, Statistics, Optimization), while remaining hands-on when needed

Balance the trade-off between general-purpose and custom-built solutions, based on ROI and business impact

Develop innovative capabilities to address complex, high-value business problems

Advance the field by applying cutting-edge ML technologies and creating novel applications and methodologies

Partner with business leaders to guide the direction of mission-critical initiatives

Craft a multi-year vision that aligns product and technology strategies

Shape the architecture of ML systems and platforms, contributing to long-term technology strategy

Oversee the end-to-end delivery and integration of ML-driven solutions

Lead design reviews and enforce technical and operational excellence

Mentor colleagues and help build a vibrant, collaborative data science community within the organization
Compensation & Benefits
Intuit offers a competitive total compensation package, aligned with our performance-driven culture. Compensation includes base pay, cash bonuses, equity awards, and a robust suite of benefits.

Bay Area, CA: $219,500 – $297,000

Southern California: $212,500 – $287,500
