About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Scientific Support Technician to join our Veterinary Services group. This crucial role supports the work of veterinary staff in post-mortem examinations and diagnostic services. The successful applicant will play an important part in ensuring quality assurance, safety, and accurate lab processing in compliance with ISO17025 standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Veterinary Investigation Officers in the post-mortem (PM) room

  • Process diagnostic samples from PM exams and clinical submissions

  • Ensure strict adherence to Health & Safety protocols and SOPs

  • Perform daily equipment checks and housekeeping duties

  • Participate in internal and external quality assurance (IQA/EQA) activities

  • Contribute to overall lab efficiency and result integrity

Minimum Qualifications

  • Educated to SCQF Level 5 (or equivalent), including English, Maths, and a Science subject

  • Experience working in a lab or clinical setting is an advantage

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs
