An exciting opportunity has arisen for aspiring nurses to join Sunflower House, our state-of-the-art Tier 4 Inpatient Unit, as a Trainee Nursing Associate Apprentice. This two-year apprenticeship programme is your pathway to becoming a Registered Nursing Associate, combining academic learning with hands-on clinical experience.

About the Apprenticeship Programme

24-month Level 5 Nursing Associate Apprenticeship

Apprenticeship delivered in partnership with Edge Hill University

Combines on-the-job training with formal classroom learning

Offers a Foundation Degree qualification upon completion

Learning across a range of care settings to meet full programme requirements
Please note: Applicants cannot apply if they already hold an equivalent qualification. Disclosure of all previous qualifications is required to meet funding eligibility.
What You’ll Learn and Do

Assist with patient assessment, care planning, and evaluation
-
Support daily living activities and deliver person-centred care
-
Perform clinical observations – BP, pulse, respirations, temperature
-
Undertake tasks like cannulation, venepuncture, ECGs (with training)

Record nutritional and fluid intake accurately
-
Maintain privacy, dignity, and safeguarding standards
-
Engage in reflective practice and develop understanding of consent, MCA, and DOLS
-
Work with patients with mental illness, learning disabilities, and dementia
-
Learn risk management, safeguarding, and complex care delivery
Eligibility Criteria

Aged 18+
-
Valid UK residency status
-
Must not already hold a Level 5 Nursing Associate qualification

Demonstrable passion for a career in children’s healthcare
-
Commitment to complete the full apprenticeship programme including the End Point Assessment (EPA)
Failure to complete the apprenticeship could lead to contract termination.
