Physician Recruiter – Job Overview
The Physician Recruiter plays a vital role in sourcing, recruiting, and maintaining schedules for physicians contracted to work locum tenens assignments through the company. This role involves coordinating closely with internal teams to effectively match physicians with client needs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for physicians regarding locum tenens opportunities.

  • Build and manage strong, ongoing relationships with physicians to ensure long-term engagement and satisfaction.

  • Actively recruit physicians to contract for locum tenens assignments, utilizing assertive and proactive sales strategies over the phone.

  • Present locum opportunities to qualified physicians and guide them through the contracting process.

  • Coordinate the recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of physicians in alignment with client needs and company standards.

  • Encourage existing physicians to extend or increase their commitments to assignments.

  • Ensure a seamless onboarding process for newly contracted physicians.

  • Maintain a steady pipeline by recruiting a targeted number of physicians monthly.

  • Match physician qualifications, preferences, licenses, and board certifications with client job requirements.

  • Partner with Client Representatives to fill assignments while meeting appropriate profit margin goals.

  • Maintain accurate and current records in the physician and job databases.

  • Oversee the completion of quality assurance documentation.

  • Coordinate logistics such as travel, housing, payroll, licensing, and credentialing for each assignment.


Qualifications

  • Proficient in navigating and managing data within large-scale database systems.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills at a professional level.

  • Strong negotiation, persuasion, and influencing skills.

  • Ability to understand physician credentials, licensing requirements, and healthcare client needs.

  • Financial literacy to interpret data and calculate profit margins.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and achieve set goals.


Experience

  • Minimum of one year of direct sales experience in products or services.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Previous experience in the healthcare or staffing industry is a plus.
