Our client is looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Billing Specialist to support their expanding legal team. This role plays a critical part in overseeing complex billing functions, conducting financial analysis for clients, and driving firm-wide accounting initiatives. Ideal candidates will bring deep experience in legal billing platforms such as Aderant, Elite, or 3E.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute advanced billing operations and financial analyses across multiple client accounts.

  • Regularly review accounts receivable reports to identify and resolve potential discrepancies.

  • Prepare and process client invoices, ensuring accuracy and inclusion of required documentation.

  • Collaborate with legal assistants and business services teams to support timely billing and collections efforts.

  • Promptly and professionally address inquiries from clients, attorneys, and internal stakeholders.

  • Work with supervisors to manage priorities, resolve billing issues, and identify opportunities for process improvement.

  • Escalate critical issues appropriately to ensure timely resolution.

  • Support team development by identifying training needs and offering mentorship.

  • Provide leadership coverage in the absence of a supervisor or manager.

  • Maintain comprehensive, up-to-date billing records for assigned partners and clients.

  • Communicate clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally, to build strong internal and external relationships.

  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Minimum of 5 years of billing experience in a law firm or professional services setting.

  • Proficiency with Aderant Expert, Elite, 3E, or comparable legal billing systems.

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.

  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.

  • Excellent organizational, planning, and time-management abilities.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative mindset.

  • Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
