About the Role

Latham & Watkins is seeking a Senior Manager of Early Career Development – Business Services to join its Human Capital & Talent team. Based in the New York office, this role plays a key strategic function in shaping the growth and success of early career talent within the firm’s business services teams. This includes overseeing the Business Services Training Program (BSTP) and helping ensure that future workforce needs are met by identifying talent gaps, enhancing readiness, and supporting leadership development.

This position may offer a hybrid work schedule, combining in-office and remote flexibility.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead strategy and execution of early career talent initiatives across business services, with a focus on best practices and consistency across offices

  • Coordinate regularly with BSTP and other program leaders through meetings and calls to share insights and align development efforts

  • Partner with the Business Services Recruiting team to support optimal staffing and early talent placement firmwide

  • Develop a structured talent readiness framework to track performance, assess role preparedness, and flag areas for improvement

  • Collaborate with the Global Learning & Development team to build targeted learning paths, and deliver engaging in-person and virtual programs focused on development, networking, and knowledge sharing

  • Work closely with the Career Navigator team to provide early career professionals with aligned mentorship, feedback, and coaching based on readiness assessments and performance reviews

  • Handle sensitive and confidential data with the highest standards of discretion and professionalism

  • Communicate clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally

Minimum requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience), preferably in Human Resources or a related field

  • At least eight (8) years of experience in human resources, learning and development, or a related function

  • A minimum of four (4) years of supervisory experience, ideally within a professional services environment

  • Proven success in developing, launching, and managing learning and development programs
