We’re seeking a skilled and motivated Shift Engineer to join our 5-star hotel team in the heart of Chelsea. You’ll play a crucial role in maintaining the property’s operational excellence, safety, and guest satisfaction by performing essential repairs, preventative maintenance, and systems monitoring.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Carry out corrective and preventative maintenance across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and AV systems

Perform minor repairs to interiors, decorative finishes, fixtures, and fittings

Conduct daily safety inspections and plant/equipment checks

Respond to guest requests and incidents professionally and efficiently
-
Act as a member of the emergency response team during alarms (e.g., fire)

Input and update all job requests in the Engineering Job Log system

Record and pass on important handover notes for the next shift

Liaise with coordinators and duty managers to confirm tasks and priorities
What We’re Looking For:

Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role within a luxury hotel

Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and fire/life safety systems
-
Proficient in spoken and written English
-
Flexible approach to shift work and working hours
-
A strong work ethic, clear communication, and ability to meet deadlines under pressure
-
Experience in a pre-opening environment is a strong advantage
