About the Role
Are you a tech-savvy problem solver with a passion for delivering high-quality IT support? Would you enjoy working in one of the UK’s most historic and iconic settings? York Minster is looking for a dedicated IT Support Engineer to join our team and ensure the seamless operation of our IT systems.
Reporting to the Head of IT, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing technology services for staff across the Minster Precinct. This is an exciting opportunity to combine your IT skills with meaningful work that supports the life and mission of York Minster.
Key Responsibilities

Provide first-line IT support for hardware, software, and network issues

Manage service requests through the IT ticketing system, ensuring timely resolution

Install and configure IT hardware, software, and applications

Assist in the deployment and maintenance of new technologies and systems

Maintain clear and accurate records of incidents and resolutions

Offer outstanding customer service to internal users and stakeholders

Actively participate in team meetings, training, and performance reviews
What We’re Looking For

Experience supporting Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Active Directory, and InTune

Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and in a team

GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade 4 or above)

A relevant IT qualification (e.g., BTEC Level 3 or equivalent)

A respectful understanding of the Christian ethos and values of York Minster
