Position Summary

As a Welder at Oceaneering, you’ll play a critical hands-on role in our manufacturing process while maintaining high safety and quality standards. You’ll report directly to the Shift Manager and act as a role model to your team, supporting productivity, process improvement, and operational safety.

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Compliance:

  • Adhere to all Oceaneering safety procedures, including Life Saving Rules and Toolbox Talks.

  • Read and understand risk assessments before beginning any task.

  • Contribute to investigations and incident reporting using proper protocols.

Operations & Production:

  • Support and lead manufacturing tasks, achieving daily performance targets.

  • Highlight process issues to maintenance, QA, and Engineering teams.

  • Complete pre-task checks using Clean Sweep or Preprocess Audit techniques.

  • Ensure proper documentation and data accuracy within the production package.

  • Adhere to inspection plans and support client witness or hold points.

Team Collaboration & Development:

  • Engage in mentoring, assessments, and development of new personnel.

  • Work flexibly across departments and shifts as required.

  • Participate in Engineering Handovers and Design Reviews.

  • Support continuous improvement by offering constructive feedback.

Equipment & Materials Handling:

  • Prepare tools, materials, and work areas before starting tasks.

  • Report and return unused or missing kit to stores.

  • Maintain housekeeping and leave the work area safe and clean.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Background in heavy manufacturing environment

  • TIG welding experience is essential

  • MMA welding experience preferred

  • Knowledge of small-bore tubing is a plus

  • NVQ / SVQ in Welding or equivalent

  • Basic I.T. skills (Excel, Word)

  • Ability to read and follow procedures

  • Willingness to mentor and support others
