Job Overview
Caroline Chisholm School is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced School Counsellor to join our all-through school community. This is a key support staff role where you will provide vital emotional and mental health support to students aged 4–19.
As part of our commitment to student well-being, you will help promote, support, and develop positive mental health and resilience across the school, while also working closely with staff to embed a culture of well-being in all aspects of school life.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver 1:1 and group counselling sessions to students across age groups

Identify and support students experiencing emotional difficulties that may impact learning

Contribute to whole-school strategies to support student well-being, attendance, behaviour, and engagement

Collaborate with teachers, senior leaders, and parents to provide holistic support

Maintain clear, confidential, and accurate records in line with safeguarding and data protection standards
About You

Experience working with young people in an educational or clinical setting

Excellent communication, empathy, and active listening skills
-
Ability to maintain confidentiality, work independently, and manage caseloads effectively

Relevant counselling qualifications (BACP or equivalent preferred)

Strong understanding of safeguarding, child development, and mental health strategies
