Position Overview
We are currently seeking a Non-HGV Driver to join our UK Transport Operations Team. In this essential front-line role, you will be responsible for safely collecting and transporting clinical and industrial waste using a company-provided vehicle (up to 7.5 tonnes). You’ll deliver excellent service to our customers while ensuring full compliance with UK road laws, ADR (hazardous materials) legislation, and EU Working Time Directive requirements.
This is a physically active, customer-facing role suited to safety-conscious professionals with a strong sense of responsibility and punctuality.
Key Responsibilities

Safely operate a company vehicle to complete daily routes in line with agreed schedules

Ensure all collections and deliveries comply with ADR and hazardous goods transportation laws

Accurately complete all legally required documentation (e.g. tachograph records, waste transfer notes)

Maintain vehicle roadworthiness by completing pre-use vehicle checks and reporting defects

Act as a courteous and professional representative of Stericycle at all client sites

Work flexibly as part of a rotating shift pattern (5 out of 7 days, including bank holidays as needed)

Attend regular staff briefings, training sessions, and comply with Stericycle SOPs

Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, immediately reporting incidents or accidents
Qualifications and Requirements
Essential:

Valid UK Driving Licence

Ability to drive vehicles up to 7.5T
-
High standard of customer service, presentation, and communication

Commitment to health & safety and compliance
Preferred:

Previous professional driving experience (especially in healthcare, logistics, or waste services)

ADR Licence (hazardous materials handling certification)

Strong organisational and time management skills

Physically fit and comfortable handling waste containers
