We’re now looking for a Compliance Assistant to join our Risk and Compliance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
This is a newly created role that offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in legal compliance, particularly around AML checks, matter management, and regulatory responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities

Complete AML checks and risk assessments for new and existing clients

Open and close client matters (including ID collection, conflict checks, and sector code assignment)

Assist in resolving unbilled WIP and managing client account funds

Support the firm’s compliance with the SRA Code of Conduct

Coordinate with Fee Earners, Finance, and Risk Partners on matter closures

Ensure timely closure of files and resolution of any client complaints or compliance issues
What We’re Looking For
Essential:

Strong IT skills (including use of compliance systems)

Excellent communication (written and verbal)

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently or in a team

Organised, adaptable, and proactive with a high attention to detail

Comfortable working under pressure and meeting deadlines
Desirable:

Previous experience in a legal or compliance-based environment
