About the Role – Shift Manager (Distribution Centre)

At Morrisons, we are looking for high-performing Shift Managers who thrive in fast-paced environments and are ready to lead large teams in our busy distribution centres. As a Shift Manager, you’ll be responsible for leading Team Managers and Warehouse Operatives to make sure the right products are picked, packed, and delivered to stores – quickly, efficiently, and accurately.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and support your shift team to deliver excellent results in line with KPIs

  • Create effective staff rotas and shift schedules to meet labour targets and workflow requirements

  • Monitor operational spend and manage resources to ensure budget compliance

  • Provide ongoing coaching, training, and guidance to Team Managers and colleagues

  • Tackle real-time challenges with proactive problem solving and decision-making

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability

  • Drive engagement and support performance reviews, development plans, and succession planning

  • Ensure compliance with health & safety and operational standards

About You

To succeed in this role, you’ll need to bring:

  • Proven experience in a Shift Manager or similar leadership role within warehousing, logistics, or distribution

  • Strong people management skills and a track record of achieving results through others

  • The ability to motivate, coach, and develop teams in high-pressure environments

  • A confident, proactive approach to problem solving and implementing operational changes

  • Experience managing budgets and cost controls

  • Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership capabilities
