A great UHY client is seeking a Tax & Accounting Analyst to join their team. An ideal candidate would learn and manage all tasks regarding client work and take a lead role in reviewing the work of less experienced staff, someone who is hardworking, detailed, and dependable, and someone who wants to grow in their career.

The Tax & Accounting Analyst role is an onsite position. This is a client direct hire position.

Tax & Accounting Analyst Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert financial guidance to clients, offering insights on tax strategies, financial planning, and compliance matters.
  • Lead and oversee tax planning initiatives, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Prepare and review complex tax returns for individuals and businesses. Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations.
  • Prepare financial statements and reports for clients. Review and analyze financial data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Communicate financial information to clients. Process federal and state payroll taxes. Stay informed on industry developments and changes in regulations.
  • Manage and conduct audits, reviews, and compilations. Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships. Act as a trusted advisor, understanding clients’ needs and providing strategic financial solutions. Keep highly organized and updated client files. Assist partners with identifying potential new clients and opportunities to grow the firm.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share knowledge, mentor junior staff, and contribute to a positive and dynamic work environment.

Tax & Accounting Analyst Requirements:

  • CPA certification (or plans to become a CPA in the near future), required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in public accounting
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, DrakeTax) and Microsoft Office products
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Working knowledge of tax laws, accounting principles and financial regulation
