We are looking for a Elementary Social Studies Teacher to join our team
Responsibilities
- Plan, Develop, and Execute Lessons: Create engaging social studies lessons that meet Alberta curriculum standards while catering to diverse learning styles and student interests.
- Foster a Dynamic Classroom Environment: Cultivate an atmosphere that encourages inquiry, critical thinking, and creative exploration of social studies topics such as history, geography, government, and cultural studies.
- Guide Self-Directed Projects: Support students in independent and collaborative projects related to social studies, guiding them through research, inquiry, and presentation of their findings.
Qualifications
- Valid teaching certification for Alberta.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Additional qualifications in history, political science, sociology, or a related field are advantageous.
- Experience teaching social studies to elementary-aged students, with a strong understanding of pedagogical approaches in self-directed learning environments.
- Proven ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of special education students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to engaging and inspiring students from diverse backgrounds.
- Commitment to continuous professional growth and collaboration within an evolving educational setting.
