Job Requirements
The successful candidate must be a member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario and possess a current B.C.L.S. (CPR). You will have two years of nursing experience. Preferred experience in psychiatric/mental health nursing. Experience within an outpatient setting is an asset. In addition to your specific experience in psychiatric assessments, you will possess effective decision- making, problem solving, proven organizational skills, and the ability to facilitate work within a collaborative, inter-professional environment.
You will have the ability to make behavioural observations, mental status assessments, monitoring clients’ response to pharmaceutical and care interventions, documentation and ongoing communication with other team members. You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to enable you develop the Nurse-Client relationship and work within a collaborative and diverse inter-professional team. Preference will be given to candidates who possess a strong knowledge of psychiatric nursing and addiction issues and the Mental Health Act. Experience working with individuals from diverse ethno cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds is required. Computer literacy is also required. Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language would be asset.
