Hanbury’s Farm and Oakhill Primary Schools Federation is a thriving, nurturing environment that serves approximately 300 children aged 2–11 across two friendly, one-form-entry schools in Tamworth. Both schools were rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted in May 2023, with a clear focus on inclusive education and continuous improvement.
We are seeking to appoint a caring, committed, and experienced Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a pupil with special educational needs (SEN). If you are passionate about making a meaningful impact on a child’s educational journey, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities

Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a child with SEN needs under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO

Foster a nurturing and supportive learning environment

Support lesson delivery and pupil engagement to ensure good academic progress

Liaise effectively with parents, carers, and external professionals
-
Attend relevant review meetings and contribute to the child’s progress planning

Maintain accurate records of interventions and progress

Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and ensure the wellbeing of pupils
Person Specification
The successful candidate will:

Have experience working in a primary school setting, particularly with children who have additional needs

Demonstrate strong English and Maths skills
-
Show empathy, patience, and a supportive attitude toward children with SEN
-
Be highly organised and able to work collaboratively with staff and families
-
Possess a positive, proactive, and team-oriented approach

Be passionate about helping all children thrive in an inclusive environment
