Key Responsibilities:

Deliver expert nursing care across the patient lifespan in a variety of settings.

Conduct accurate assessments, identify patient needs, and develop individualized care plans.

Implement, document, and evaluate nursing interventions and patient outcomes.

Supervise and mentor LPNs, RNs, and support personnel; serve as a charge nurse or team leader as needed.

Ensure compliance with approved, research-based practice standards and maintain thorough documentation.

Assist the Nurse Manager with staffing, resource allocation, budgeting, performance improvement initiatives, and customer satisfaction efforts.

Precept and support the orientation and development of new staff and students.

Engage in continuous quality improvement projects and nursing research initiatives.

Advocate for patients’ autonomy, dignity, and rights while delivering non-judgmental, culturally sensitive care.

Uphold the ANA Code of Ethics and maintain current clinical competencies and certifications.
Education and Qualifications:

Associate Degree in Nursing required.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Two (2) years of nursing experience in the practice area required.

Previous leadership experience (charge nurse or similar role) required.
Licensure and Certifications:

Current NYS Registered Professional Nurse (RN) license.

Current BLS certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).

Specialty certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS) may be required depending on the unit.

National certifications in specialty practice preferred.

Physical Requirements:
