The Role You’ll Contribute
The Account Representative II plays a key role in billing, collections, and denial management to ensure timely payment on assigned accounts receivable. Working under general supervision, this role requires collaboration with patients, insurance companies, and internal teams to resolve accounts, prevent denials, and maximize reimbursement.
You’ll also support team education, process improvement, and assist leadership with audits, training, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities

Manage billing, collections, and denial resolution for assigned accounts receivable.

Review and understand payer contracts to ensure proper reimbursement and accurate account reconciliation.

Work daily follow-up reports and notify supervisors of barriers to meeting departmental goals.

Resolve patient concerns and provide updates on claim statuses to both patients and payors.

Process appeals, refunds, reinstatements, rejections, and resubmissions of insurance claims.

Maintain accurate documentation of all billing, collection, and denial actions.

Assist in training new staff, conducting audits, and providing constructive feedback to team members.

Participate in required meetings, projects, and continuous education activities.

Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations when handling patient and account information.
Qualifications
Required:

High School Diploma or Equivalent
-
Strong understanding of the Revenue Cycle (Charge Capture, PreAccess, HIM, Coding, Patient Financial Services)

Professional communication and problem-solving skills

Experience with:

Cerner Patient Accounting
-
SSI Claims Scrubber
-
Epic
-
Preferred:
-
Associate Degree
-
Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR)

Previous experience in patient financial services, billing, or healthcare AR
