About the Role – Account Strategist:
As an Account Strategist, you’ll serve as the strategic lead for client accounts—acting as the primary point of contact for executive stakeholders. You’ll own top-level client strategy, collaborate with specialist teams to execute lifecycle programs, and drive customer growth through marketing, sales, and service strategies. Your goal: create ROI-driven, award-worthy campaigns that establish SmartBug as a trusted long-term partner.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Strategy & Relationship Management

Lead strategic planning across the full customer lifecycle (marketing, sales, success)

Serve as a trusted advisor to senior-level client stakeholders

Oversee client onboarding, discovery, and goal setting

Drive cross-functional collaboration for strategic delivery

Identify upsell opportunities and scope out-of-retainer services

Ensure 5-star experiences across all engagements
Execution & Delivery

Guide internal strategist teams across demand generation, CRM, customer success, and more

Review and support the implementation of content, tech stacks, campaigns, and paid media

Collaborate with creatives and developers on assets and deliverables

Manage budgets, campaign scopes, and internal billing rates
Analytics & Reporting

Measure and report on strategy performance using data insights

Deliver strategic reports, monthly dashboards, and quarterly business reviews (QBRs)

Optimize plans based on HubSpot analytics and business KPIs
Leadership

Directly manage 1–2 account specialists

Lead cross-functional digital teams across various specialties

Provide performance feedback, coaching, and development guidance
What We’re Looking For:
Must-Haves:

6+ years of experience in digital strategy/account management
-
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field
-
Proficiency in HubSpot Marketing, Sales, and Service Hubs
-
Track record of successful goal setting, ROI delivery, and client retention
-
Strong interpersonal and executive communication skills
-
Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and inspire teams
Preferred:

Experience in SaaS, Healthcare, Professional Services, Manufacturing, or Education

Previous remote work in a client-facing digital agency role
-
HubSpot certifications (Marketing, Sales, Customer Service)

Familiarity with lifecycle marketing, ABM, CRM optimization, and 3rd-party integrations
