Job Summary:
This Senior Accountant role involves diverse accounting tasks, applying GAAP to reconcile and analyze financial data, and preparing statements and reports.
Responsibilities:
- Review and reconcile general and subsidiary ledger accounts (AR, AP, payroll, fixed assets).
- Prepare journal entries and update related documentation.
- Assist in preparing reports for regulatory agencies (local, state, federal).
- Support annual audit and ACFR preparation (schedules, financial statements, statistical data).
- Other duties as assigned, adhering to college policies and core values.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of not-for-profit accounting, GASB, GAAP, and accounting best practices.
- Familiarity with Workday and Modern Campus preferred.
- Proficiency in Excel and Word.
- Proactive, organized, and able to meet deadlines under pressure.
- Strong written and verbal communication, and critical thinking skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Preferred: 3 years of accounting experience.
- Must pass a criminal background check (security sensitive position).
Physical Demands: Sedentary office work with occasional light lifting.
