Title: Accountant Department: Finance Reports To: Controller Location: NYC Hybrid (2 days in-office per week) Salary: $56,000 – $70,000 (commensurate with experience and location)
Your Role:
As an Accountant, you will support the finance and accounting team with daily and ad-hoc tasks and projects, gaining valuable experience in a dynamic and collaborative environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a semi-early career professional.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Receivable: Assist with billings and collections, ensuring policy compliance. Update and distribute weekly collection reports, addressing issues with Team Leads. Monitor and manage cash receipts, post payments, and resolve discrepancies.
- Accounts Payable: Support vendor onboarding and billings, and verify expense reports. Ensure proper expense coding and budget adherence.
- General: Assist in maintaining the general ledger, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations. Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes. Respond to Accounting mailbox inquiries and perform other necessary general tasks.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required).
- 2-4 years of accounting experience.
- Salesforce and Intacct experience (preferred).
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Positive attitude and a desire to be part of a diverse team.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently, prioritize tasks, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Nonprofit experience (a plus).
