About the Role:

Catalyst, a global nonprofit headquartered in New York with a mission to make workplaces work for women (and therefore everyone), is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join our collaborative and impactful Finance team. This hybrid role, based in NYC (2 days in-office), offers a semi early-career professional the opportunity to grow in a dynamic environment.

Your Impact:

Reporting to the Controller, you will support daily and ad-hoc tasks and projects within the finance and accounting team, primarily focusing on:

  • Accounts Receivable: Assisting with billings and collections, generating reports, and managing cash receipts.
  • Accounts Payable: Supporting vendor onboarding, verifying billings and expense reports, and ensuring proper expense coding.
  • General Accounting: Contributing to the maintenance of the general ledger through journal entries and account reconciliations, and supporting month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Responding to accounting inquiries and performing other general tasks as needed.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
  • 2-4 years of accounting experience.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and Intacct is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational & interpersonal skills.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Positive attitude and a desire to be part of a diverse team.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work both collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Nonprofit experience is a plus.
