About the Role
MU Health Care is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant I to support the finance department with maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulations. This role plays a key part in month-end closing, reconciliations, and audit preparation, contributing to efficient and transparent financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and review accounting transactions, journal entries, and reports.

Reconcile general ledger accounts monthly to ensure accuracy.

Assist with monthly and year-end financial statements and internal reporting.

Maintain accurate records including invoices, receipts, and statements.

Provide analyses, identify anomalies, and recommend process improvements.

Support annual audits by gathering and organizing required financial documents.

Ensure compliance with GAAP, hospital policies, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Minimum 1 year of accounting or finance experience.
Preferred:

Prior healthcare or hospital finance experience.

Knowledge of hospital billing processes and financial operations.
