About the Job

Arkansas Children’s is seeking an Accountant II to join our Accounting team. In this role, you’ll help maintain accurate financial records, reconcile accounts, post journal entries, and support month- and year-end closing duties. You’ll also assist with audits, budget preparation, and process improvements that strengthen financial operations.

This full-time position offers a flexible hybrid schedule with the opportunity to make a direct impact on the financial integrity of Arkansas Children’s.

Key Responsibilities

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts to the general ledger for monthly and year-end processes.

• Post journal entries, prepare reports, and analyze their impact on financial statements.

• Support month-end and year-end close by preparing schedules and documentation.

• Assist with financial statement review, analysis, and preparation.

• Contribute to the budgeting process and respond to audit requests.

• Recommend and implement process improvements.

• Test system upgrades and enhancements related to accounting functions.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.

• Minimum 2 years of accounting experience.

• CPA certification (Arkansas State Board of Public Accountancy) preferred.

• Strong analytical, reconciliation, and reporting skills.

• Experience in healthcare or large organization accounting a plus.
