We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join our team and support essential financial operations. This role involves managing journal entries, reconciliations, and correspondent account monitoring to ensure accuracy and compliance with Credit Union policies and regulations.
Responsibilities

Prepare and post journal entries in line with Credit Union policies.

Reconcile sales activity (money orders, gift cards, etc.) and general ledger entries.

Perform daily general ledger balancing, including trial balance, transaction journals, vaults, and corporate checks.

Maintain and update general ledger chart of accounts and access codes.

Process daily settlement entries (credit card, ATM, branch deposits, ACH).

Handle loan participation settlements and bookkeeping.

Prepare and submit weekly FRB 2900 to the Federal Reserve.

Assist with month-end inquiries, reconciliations, and reporting.

Support audit preparation, quarterly NCUA Call Report schedules, and compliance requirements.

Collaborate across departments to resolve accounting-related issues.

Cross-train with accounting staff and serve as backup when needed.
Qualifications

Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Minimum 2 years of accounting or financial services experience (or equivalent).

Strong understanding of general ledger administration and reconciliations.

Knowledge of basic accounting principles and regulations.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
