Position Summary

The Cash Management Group at Canaccord Genuity is looking for an Accountant to join our high-performing team of finance professionals. We manage over $5 billion in client assets and employ like-minded individuals who display grit, integrity, hard work, and an ability to think outside the box.

This is a full time position out of our downtown Vancouver office. Successful candidate will support our existing team of three Business Analysts (CPA’s). Must be a seasoned Bookkeeper able to assist with day-to-day financial operations with minimal supervision. Will be responsible for assisting with preparation of financial statements and maintaining accurate records.

Must be able to multitask, take both initiative & direction, and have a strong understanding of accounting principles. Adaptability is key – you must have the ability to problem solve and think on your feet. Are a highly motivated and detail oriented professional with a passion for accounting and bookkeeping.

Position Responsibilities

Bookkeeping & Taxes

• Record day-to-day financial transactions and prepare financial reports.

• Update accounts payable and receivable.

• Evaluate processes and financial data and recommend improvements.

• Prepare and review budget, revenue, invoices, and other accounting documents.

• Reconcile bank statements and accounts.

• Perform month/year-end close procedures.

• Maintain general ledger accounts, working papers, and prepare journal entries.

• Assist with audits, financial reviews, and tax returns.

• Assist with payroll processing and reviewing employee expenses.

Skills & Qualifications

• Degree in accounting, finance, or relevant certification.

• Proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping.

• Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.

• Hands on experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and Google Sheets.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Able to meet strict deadlines and prioritize workload.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
