About the Role: Accountant I

As an Accountant I, you will support the financial operations of The Jewish Board, assisting with accounting tasks, reconciliations, audits, and financial analysis. Working under the Supervision Accountant or Assistant Controller, you will help maintain financial integrity and ensure compliance with reporting standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform general and specialized accounting tasks related to financial operations.

  • Analyze fiscal trends and report any irregularities.

  • Post to general and subsidiary ledgers while ensuring accuracy.

  • Reconcile and analyze ledger accounts and transactions.

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closings and audit preparations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or Associate’s degree with 2+ years of experience).

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Familiarity with digital communication tools (Teams, Zoom, Webex).

Work Environment:

  • Hybrid schedule with remote and in-office work.

  • Primarily desk-based with extended screen time.
